Let me back up the clock for a second - we were 97% packed two days ago, in the 70-ish hour bubble timeframe. Seriously I am proud and happy for us, but looking back at previous trips this is the norm so I guess I'm happy we have our game faces on for the trip. The pack-it cubes work perfectly, although two of them are going back because the others worked so well we don't need them! Good problem to have.
Ry cut my hair last night and gave it a nice gloss treatment; while I didn't cut his hair I did help him apply (well, tried to) his gloss and did a nice job washing it out of his hair and wetting his face. I think the latter part was unnecessary?
Ry has to work today (sad) so I'm compiling a list of random errands that need to be done today, including shopping and making the bird his salad and printing off our final itinerary list for our carry-on. There are decisions still to be made: iPad or Kindle? Or just iPhone? I'm leaning to the latter since we're not staying in hotels that have safes and do I really want to carry that stuff around or soak up everything around me? It'd only be good for the flight and I'm old enough now to keep busy with a book (that'll get dropped off somewhere) and a cocktail.
One notable deviation in our luggage from last time is the amount of freaking vitamins we need to bring for 10 days of travel. Seriously! From fish oil to mega-men sport to glucosomine, and on and on...but this is a good thing and a sign of our maturity (NOT age). Ha.
The birdie boy is nervous and upset about seeing us pack, he nipped both of us; Ry never gets bit, but it's understandable. 13 years of dependence makes for thick binds. He sees Mel later today, and that'll get him super excited to spend healthy, quality time with her. She is dreamy to him and he to her.
The list is up to 6 stops today. All south of the river, thankfully, but I better start early before it his 102 again.
Ciao!
