Onwards to München

We really tied one on yesterday--after leaving dinner we stopped into a bar with an interesting mix of people. They had a little gaming area (think Vegas-style machines, not Sopranos-style dice games) and the main act was a guy with his synthesizer and a good voice. It was packed--lots of different types of ages, races, preferences, and all having a good time.

After that, we stumbled into another place with a nice outdoor area to watch cars and chat.

I can't totally remember how we got home, but we did, and Ry will have to fill in that gap later.

A late start this morning; we literally shoved everything into the luggage and I am hand-carrying our wine glasses from the Weindorf with no expectations that they will arrive home in one piece.

Now, we are on a train to München for the second leg of our trip. It is a rainy day, as we expected, and the jackets Ry bought are perfect!

On the train I saw Polizei questioning a guy--something out of my spy novels--but they were very nice as I passed and ceded to me while saying, "I sink yuu know ah little German, yah? Yuu untersthood what aih vas sawying, ya?" On my return from grabbing a stabilizing bier and Butterkuchen: "Vell, yuur bearthdate dahs not match how alt yuu luke, ya?"

Love Germany. Our language skills are mild, but we try more out of habit than try out of fear. Most things go well and at least people approach us in German first. Ryan is doing exceptionally well with his Deutsch. Funny, though, this morning he was ordering some Käsebrotchen and he asked for "twoooo" in a German accent. Hahaha, the guy laughed and said "Shree forty" and he paid.

Can't wait to see München!!
