3 Weeks!

Wow, it's coming quickly. Preparations feel really solid, with each week knocking off a block of to-dos. Our hotels are completely booked, I have general ideas on train transport between cities (don't want to overplan that and thankfully there are a lot of trains to pick from), and my coarse Italiano is coming along ok. Working on numbers and basic nouns right now and have stickers up across the house.

My big goal this week is wrapping up our packing list. We picked up a new camera this week (the last one was bought before our Germany 2006 trip and lasted us through Europe 2008 and UK 2009, plus a few Disneyland trips in-between) and it's amazing! Need to order some Euros, maybe buy some new Keane shoes, and most importantly:

What to wear to the wedding?

While not our first international wedding (see UK 2009), my strong desire to keep a tidy luggage footprint is challenged by the extra shoes, belts, trousers, shirt, jacket, and the other things that come along with a one-time outfit. Ry is far ahead me on preparations, with his trousers at the tailor already and 75% confident on what he will wear. I'm at about 5%. Must tie this one up quickly!

On the cooking front, I've added quite a number of fun Italian dishes into the menu, for fun, including some lovely three-cheese stuffed shells that we devoured last night. My first time stuffing shells! Delish. I proudly cooked 3 meals at the same time last night to get a jumpstart on the week. How domestic of me!

After all the cooking, we lounged in the pool until beyond dusk. It might not have been a 100+ degree day (our first in about 25 days) but it was still 99 and humid!

OK, off to work on the packing list.

Tschüß!
